Verification Results on Domestic Automobile Engines from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT)

On January 29, 2024, Toyota Industries Corporation reported to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and other Japanese regulatory authorities regarding the violation of domestic laws and regulations in domestic engine certification. Subsequently, MLIT verified the compliance of the subject engine models with the domestic standards. As a result, on February 27, 2024, MLIT announced that three models of automobile engines for the domestic market comply with the domestic standards, and it has lifted its instruction to suspend shipments of subject engine models.

Following the announcement of MLIT, Toyota Motor Corporation will resume production and shipment of automobiles equipped with the subject engine models for the domestic market from March 4,2024. In line with the resumption by Toyota Motor Corporation, the Company will also resume production and shipment of the subject engine models for the domestic market.

The Company sincerely apologizes again to our customers, dealers, suppliers, and all other concerned parties for the significant inconvenience. The Company will take a step back and make company-wide efforts to prevent the recurrence and ensure compliance with domestic laws and regulations once again.
